The Mormon Creative Collective is an artistic home for creative people who support and nurture one another as they seek to grow as artists, develop their network of friends and collaborators, incubate new works, and develop thriving careers in Film, Television, Theatre and other creative industries.
Though we are not directly associated with the LDS Church, we are a pool of artists who happen to share that common background. We welcome active Mormons, less-active Mormons and “wouldn’t come to church if you held a gun to my head” Mormons as well as non-Mormon friends. MCC is open to actors, directors, writers, designers, musicians, dancers, cinematographers, editors, animators, visual artists, executives, casting directors, agents, managers, lawyers… If you are creative, or want to be, or support those who are, you are invited.

MCC'S MISSION
Connect – Bring together creative artists and craftspersons from Film, Television, Theatre and other creative industries to foster new friendships, expand professional networks, and generally help Mormon artists find one another.
Create – Encourage new collaborations. Provide a nurturing, inclusive environment for the development and presentation of new work. Inspire one another to strive for the highest standards of artistic excellence.
Educate – Pool our resources and collective expertise to help one another expand our knowledge, skill and capacities as artists and professionals. This includes providing opportunities to learn about the business side of artistic endeavors. We also seek to engage with the spiritual (though not necessarily religious) aspects of a life in the arts.

PHILOSOPHY
All people are welcome
All viewpoints are welcome and respected
We support every member of the collective unconditionally
We welcome work of all kinds (Any material that would be considered R-rated will be showcased with sensitivity. We ask our presenters to be forthright about content so that members of the collective may decide for themselves whether or not to attend a particular session.)

Message from MCC's Founder

Hi, I'm Matt Toronto, director/writer/producer/educator. Almost two years ago I left my job teaching at Penn State and moved to Burbank with my family so my wife and I could pursue careers in film and television. We immediately fell in love with this place and began doing very exciting work. But after a while I started thinking to myself, "I know surprisingly few other Mormons who work in the industry." I also thought about how great it would be to have a network of Mormons in the arts to support and nurture one another as we pursue our various career paths. It would have been a great thing for us when we first moved here, and I know that there are more and more Mormon artists, technicians and craftspersons moving into the LA area every year. So I decided to start the Mormon Creative Collective. I hope you'll join us.
